Is there parking ?
My Inner Child Paint Bar is located at 2725 Yonge Street, mid-way between Eglinton and Lawrence Avenue on the East side. Retail parking is available underground at a reasonable cost with the entrance just past 2741 Yonge. We are one of only two retail units that are open in the evening and therefore there should be ample underground parking available. There are always spots available during the daytime as well. Parking is also available right in front of our location on Yonge, or alternatively on several of the side streets close by. We welcome you to enjoy a beverage while you paint with us but encourage you to plan ahead for transportation.
What painting experience to I need?
None. Our classes are designed for absolute beginners to more experienced painters. If you are a more advanced painter you are welcome to drop in during one of our regularly scheduled paint classes and paint your own piece. Alternatively check out our Membership section for those who want unstructured studio time.
What should I expect?
You are welcome to drop in ahead of your class to have a drink and socialize. Our experienced owner/artist will guide you through the painting planned for the evening. You are encouraged to add your own flair or creativity. You may find it surprising that everyone creates very different looking paintings. Walk-ins and last minute bookings are fine subject to availability.
What should I bring ?
Just bring yourself, an open mind and open heart. We supply all materials needed, including a paint smock.
How long is the event?
The paint class is expected to take 2.5-3 hours, but we will give you as much time as you need to finish your painting. You are welcome to have a drink and socialize before and after the paint class.
Do I have to paint the scheduled painting?
Not at all! If you are an experienced (or unexperienced) painter attending with friends and want to do your own thing, then feel free to unleash your brush. Our instructor, however, will teach what is scheduled and will provide you any assistance if possible.
What should I wear ?
Please wear comfortable, relaxed clothing but not your Sunday best. We use only acrylic paint which is water soluble. If you spill paint on your clothes it should wash out right away. If you allow the paint to dry it will be very difficult to get the paint out without staining. We provide smocks that will help provide some protection.
What drinks/food are available?
Our bar is stocked with a selection of wines (red, white, rose, prosecco), premium and craft beer, cider, and non-alcoholic drinks. We have a selection of snacks including, peanuts, almonds, chocolates and protein bars. You are welcome to order in food through your favourite ordering app.
I can no longer attend?
All sales are non-refundable. You may reschedule with at least 48 hours notice. There is a rebooking fee of $10 if you reschedule within 24-48 hours. No same day changes are available.
How do I book a private event?
We can accommodate private events for up to 30 people. Please fill out the form under Private Events or send us an email with some basic information around your event at info@myinnerchildpaintbar.com and we will get back to you as soon as possible. Private events start at $500 for up to 5 hours of studio time including a guided paint experience.
Is it wheelchair friendly?
Yes. We are located on the ground floor right off Yonge Street with no ramps and we have an accessible washroom.
Is it family friendly?
Yes. A parent/caregiver or older sibling/friend needs to be present for children 14 and under.
